I grew up training to become a professional ballet dancer from the age of 2 and a half but by the time I reached the age of 10, I was extremely bored and wanted to try other things. I had always been a part of my church and school choirs but I had never learnt to play an instrument. I then started piano lessons which didn't last too long but I still liked to play at home and teach myself songs. When I reached high school and it was time to choose my subjects, I did a very silly thing and ignored my music teacher and didn't pick music as I wanted to be with my friends. This later on led me to feel like I had thrown away a huge amount of valuable education. So when I turned 16/17 and started getting more and more into music, I got my first guitar as a Christmas present which then led to guitar lessons. I found myself really enjoying learning guitar and being able to accompany myself while singing. The only thing was, no one had ever heard me as I only played in my bedroom and I had no confidence to play for people which led me to make recordings. I then decided that I wanted to get confident with it, so I decided to apply for the Btec Level 2 music course at Stevenson College which gave me a massive insight into the music world. Even though the course was only 18 weeks long, I learnt a lot of valuable knowledge and realised how strong my passion for music really was.
I like a lot of different genres in music and I'm inspired by many different artists. Some of the musicians that inspire me, who are successful musicians in this day in age, are artists such as Lianne La Havas, Lykke Li, Lisse, Tame Impala, Beach House and The Staves. I grew up listening to my older siblings music which was a lot of Oasis, Pixies, Alanis Morissette and just generally a lot of 80's to early 90's music.
