Choir is compulsory and takes place every Monday after college times, in the auditorium. Recently, we have been singing the Bohemian Rhapsody and It don't mean a thing. In a choir, you have different types of singers which means you're either a Soprano, Tenor, Alto or Bass.
I am a Soprano.
I enjoy choir as i think it is a good way to get better at singing as i will be strengthening my stomach muscles and warming up my vocal chords in the right way. I will also be singing songs that i don't usually sing or listen to which will open up my knowledge to different genres of music. Our choir teacher is very good and enthusiastic. He also explains our parts simply and fast allowing us to understand our parts clearly.
For Bohemian Rhapsody we have played with the college band and been recorded.
On the 21st of November, the choir were invited to take a trip to Glasgow to sing with another choir for an organisation (i can't remember the name of) but i couldn't make it due to a doctors appointment.
We have all recently returned from our Christmas holidays and started a fresh new song called Fun, Fun, Fun. This song is very fast and includes a lot of dynamics. I had never heard the song before but it's becoming quite catchy.
We are also singing I Wish by Stevie Wonder and a song from the musical theatre show Wicked. I've never seen the play but this piece of music is very beautiful and great when sung in a choir as it is very powerful at some parts.
